Yikes. I can’t even believe I have not updated this thing since August! Even for me, that’s bad. But what better time to do it than now, when all I have is time on my hands! Well, actually now with added schooling for Jeremiah and Hope (and keeping Norah busy π) I feel like I have LESS free time, but still, who am I kidding! I have plenty of time!
So, looking back at my last post, Jeremiah had just started school, 4th grade! It almost makes me weep to look back at that post and the pictures of our fun summer and spending time with family.... how we took advantage of being able to do those simple, normal things. I long to go back to those days!! I don’t know if it’s the right thing to pray for, but I do pray that things can get back to normal soon. Mostly for the sake of our kids- I want Hope to be able to go back to pre-school which she loves SO MUCH, I want Jeremiah to be able to get back to 4th grade to his friends and teachers (who do SUCH a better job teaching him than I am!). I want to be busy on Saturdays going to soccer games. I want Norah to be able to go back to her 2 happy places- church and the library! I know we will get there eventually, so we will continue to do our part by staying home. π‘ But this sure isn’t easy!
So anyway, here’s a review of our activities since mid-August. π¬

Norah was thrilled that the weather warmed up for playing on the playground after school! (We miss that so much!!! π)
March 13 was basically our last day of normalcy. That day was when IL governor first closed the schools starting the following week. The evening of the 13th they still held Jeremiah’s spring music program- the older kids did a cute musical called “Souls on Fire” π₯
Not a great pic, but how cute are they as firefighters?! π§π»ππ
And thus began our time of quarantine/shutdown/whatever you want to call it due to the Coronavirus (someday I’ll want to look back and remember this time, right?!?)
How have we been spending our time?

One of my first trips for groceries after the craziness began. π
It was crazy. But Easter candy was fully stocked! We struggled a bit for TP, but eventually did find some and now it seems our stores are getting it stocked a bit. Who knew I’d ever be excited turning down the TP aisle at HyVee?! π§»

Cutting Jeremiah’s hair, because why the heck not, right?! π€£
Adam’s job at John Deere is designated as essential so we are super thankful that he is working. He is working a staggered shift, a shift later than he normally would go in, so most days he’s not home from work till after 6. Trying to remind ourselves this is just temporary! But I’m not going to lie, it’s been rough transitioning to this Stay At Home All The Time life and then Adam not getting home till almost bedtime. And it’s hard not knowing when this will ever come to an end! One of the first days of this, Hope was begging me to sing the echo to a song they had sung in church earlier in March- “This is the Day.” And quite honestly, I didn’t want to sing it! It was all just feeling like too much! But I came to realize that it really is a great reminder and I try to wake up every morning with this thought, no matter what the day might bring!
