We just returned home after a wonderful 4th of July weekend spent with Adam's family in Sioux City! We arrived in Sioux City Thursday afternoon and then soon took off to go to Hull to see Adam's Grandma Wissink. Jeremiah got to meet his Great Grandma Wissink for the first time! I think they were both happy to meet one another!
Friday we went golfing (while G'ma and G'pa babysat) with Adam's sister Rachel and her husband Kelly. It was my favorite kind of day-- hot and sunny. I could have done without the darn mosquitoes, though!
Last summer, Adam and I went golfing almost once a week. This summer we have not been able to do that (for obvious reasons... why can't they make golf carts that accommodate car seats????), so this was my first time out this summer. And I didn't do too shabby, if I do say so myself!
It's so nice to go golfing with a pro like Adam who can offer tips and suggestions. :)
Friday evening we went to a parade in downtown Sioux City. Jeremiah was just in awe of everything around him-- there was so much to see!
Saturday Jeremiah and I went up to LeMars to meet my good friends Stephanie and Natasha (and Samantha) for lunch! He was a very good boy... he sat in his stroller, took a nap, and put up with all the "girl talk."
Again, there was so much to look at! This time it was Stephanie's watch that grabbed Jeremiah's attention.
On Sunday, the 4th of July, we enjoyed a morning church service and an afternoon BBQ with some of Adam's extended family.
Yes, Jeremiah is proud to be an American, where at least he knows he's free... (I just love that song).
We also spent time hanging out with the family, which was lots of fun. Jeremiah enjoyed watching his cousins and smiling at them! He can't wait until he's actually big enough to play with Kyan and Kobe!
The cousins. Now I realize just how hard it is to get a good picture of little kids-- yikes!
And then today Jeremiah slept for the majority of the 3 hour ride home. It was a busy, busy weekend full of fun! That can be so tiring for a baby! :)
And now we are back home, and have been reunited with Molly. We will be home for 4 days-- enough time to do lots of laundry and prepare for our next vacation, a week in Michigan with the Wiers side of the family! :)
Glad to hear you had a great week-end. I love the pictures of Jeremiah with his great-grandma. Very sweet!! Can't wait to see you all again!
ReplyDeleteHe is SO cute! And I'm glad you're teaching him Lee Greenwood at an early age. Can't wait to see you in a week!
