Omaha with the Wissinks

We enjoyed a wonderful 4th of July weekend with Adam's family in Omaha! Omaha is only about 2 hours from us, so Jeremiah did well on the drive. Along with watching a "Melmo" (FYI, we only have one Elmo DVD, and J watches it repeatedly. Adam and I have it memorized.) J also passed the time with US Weekly.

We arrived there early Friday evening, had dinner with G & G Wissink, and then took Jeremiah to the waterpark at our hotel! He actually wasn't that big of a fan at first... but later in the weekend he really had fun there!

This is when he found out that in the kiddie pool there were 5 buckets up above that would randomly drop water on your head.

On Saturday we hit the Omaha Children's Museum. Needless to say, Jeremiah and his cousins had a blast!

J was in his glory-- they had not one, but TWO toy lawn mowers to play with!

AND a vacuum!

AND a shopping cart!

He got to drive a car...

And he was excited to get on the "swing" and see if Adam could lift him using the pulley system. FYI, yes Adam was able to lift Jeremiah. He even lifted Jeremiah AND me! He's strong.

Something I NEVER thought I'd see in my life: Adam putting stage make-up on his son.

He better keep his day job.

We visited the dinosaur exhibit, and Jeremiah and Grandpa were intrigued by the saber-toothed tiger!

And we ended our time at the museum with a spin on the carousel! J enjoyed this ride much more than his 1st carousel ride last year!

Jeremiah would have stayed on all day. Mommy got dizzy.

On Sunday we went to the Omaha Zoo, which Jeremiah loved, too!

Jeremiah, Daddy, and cousin Kobe. And gorillas.

Wide-eyes on the train ride!

Milking a cow!

This guy was showing off.

Sunday evening Jeremiah really had fun at the waterpark!

And he even went down the slide all by himself!

On Monday before we left Omaha, we stopped at Joe's Karting so Adam could drive a go-cart (he said that this was the highlight of his weekend!). The go-cart place actually did not open until 4:00, but they opened their doors for us and let us in anyway, which was so cool! So Adam, Grandpa, Rachel, and KB had the track to themselves.

He was driving fast.

Jeremiah watched the race very intently!

And he cheered when Daddy came in 1st! :)

And then they had these cool little bathtub racers for the kids to drive!

Mommy drove while Jeremiah did the sound effects. He's wearing Daddy's helmet sock thing on his head, just so you know.

The other racers...

And Jeremiah and I came in dead last.

However, in my defense, I had the pedal down the entire time-- I swear our bathtub was just slow!

We had a fabulous time-- thanks Grandpa and Grandma! And now Jeremiah and I are gearing up for our next adventure-- Milwaukee this weekend!

Oh, and here is a picture of our patriotic boy on the 4th of July!
