At our house, the month of February revolves around one major event- Jeremiah’s birthday on the 18th!! The rest of the month is just whatever. My mom-brain is making it hard for me to recall what all happened in Feb and in what order, but I’ll do my best.
This girl’s cheeks! π
How cute is she in this sweater that my mom bought for her at the Brookfield Christian School auction?
Adam thinks she looks like a teletubby π€£
The date on this picture tells me Jeremiah had a snow day on the 9th! ❄️
I had him work on his Valentines that day- finally he’s at the age when he can do it all independently and (somewhat) neatly. ππ»
Oh yes he did pass out those delicious little packets of flavored sugar. You’re welcome.
Didn’t do much for Valentines Day, but the kids and I shared a ❤️ pizza!
Jeremiah’s birthday usually falls near President’s Day, and also the weekend his school sends their Jr High basketball teams to a tourney in WI. So this year he got a 4-day weekend for his birthday! Adam’s family also came to town, so J was just in heaven having a blast with his cousins. The 17th we started off the day at the Putnam Science Museum which was super fun for all the kids!
And after lunch we moved on to Jeremiah’s favorite place ever- the John Deere Pavillion!
Best day ever for our boy, I think!
Sunday the 18th was his birthday!
My baby boy is 8!!! π
He opened presents, of course!
Woohoo, Beyblades. (I don’t understand these things?! π€)
Also for his birthday, he got a ticket to the Toby Mac concert, which he went to with his friends from school! So fun!
The kids got to do some swimming at the pool at G and G’s hotel!
This one was skeptical. π€¨
Sunday evening we did cake, and J was lucky to have Adam’s family here AND Grandpa and Grandma Wiers in town! Monday morning the Wissink side had to head back to NW Iowa, but G and G Wiers stayed to spend the day with me and the kids. We went to the Bettendorf Family Museum.
This place is so fun, especially for Hope! She could play there for hours. J and Grandpa went to the ThinkShop and built a monster truck using wood, plastic lids, pipe cleaners.... it is quite the creation! Sweet Norah hung out in the stroller, and I know the days of her being okay with that are numbered!
Tuesday Jeremiah shared his birthday treat at school!
Yum.
On February 21, this girl turned 8 months old!!
Oh my, she’s so cute!
Of course, in February we also watched the Olympics!
Norah couldn’t tear her eyes away from men’s curling π₯. And USA got the gold! π₯
February 24 was the Toby Mac concert for J and his friends. He had such a blast!!
I’m hopeful that spring will be arriving soon. We have had a few nice 50-60 degrees days lately, so that definitely gives us spring fever!
The days of Norah staying put on a blanket are numbered, too. π
Someone has the best daddy ever πππ
And the best brother, too! π€£
She has very reasonable rates if anyone is looking for a mani/pedi. π

Rub a dub dub, the cutest baby ever in the tub! π¦
On March 2, J had a day off from school so I took the kids on a day trip to Chicago to see cousin Duncan (and Auntie Abby and Uncle Neil, of course)!
Cousins! ❤️
See his onesie??? He loves his aunt! π That’s me!! π¬
Aaaaaand his dimples are the cutest EVER.
So before we left Chicago that evening, I thought Norah felt warm but the thermometer did not read that she had a temp, so I didn’t think much if it. But when we got home, I took it again and it was 101.8. ☹️ I was really praying that we did not pass something on to our sweet baby cousin! Saturday morning she still had the temp, so off to my least favorite place in the entire world. Urgent Care. Ugh I hate that place. But, thankfully they actually had a pediatrician working that day who saw Norah.
This pic breaks my heart! Her temp at this point was almost 104! π©
They pretty much ran every test they could- CBC, Influenza, Strep, RSV, and they drew blood and got a urine sample. Needless to say, Norah was not a fan of ANY of this!!! Poor baby.
Ibuprofen helped bring the smiles back! π€ (See the bandage around her arm?! ππ)
Because her white blood cell count was extremely high and she had a high fever, they assumed a UTI and gave her an antibiotic shot on Saturday, then we had to go back again Sunday for another one. Poor poor baby!! We went for a recheck at our pediatrician on Monday and found out it actually was not a UTI. They ruled out basically all serious illnesses, thankfully, but really do not know what caused this (which is kind of unsettling to me). By Monday her fever was gone, and her white count was back in the normal range, so that was good to see. And our happy, content Norah is back!
J and H have just started up another session of swimming lessons at the Y. Hope’s first big girl lessons by herself! And she is loving it!
Hopefully my next post will be full of springtime weather and activities! π€π»
