Trying New Things...

It's just so much fun to watch Jeremiah grow and do new things! He has been getting a little bored with just laying on the floor playing with toys (although he still does enjoy this once in awhile). His main interest right now is wanting to sit up! When he sits on your lap, he doesn't want to lean against you-- NO, he wants to sit forward, trying to sit up by himself. When he's in his car seat, he's always trying to sit up-- thankfully the 5-point harness keeps him from doing this! :) I am starting to think that sitting up is going to happen before rolling over!

Such a look of concentration! He's a little unsteady at this point, but we keep practicing!

We also just got Jeremiah a brand new (well... new to us!) Exersaucer off of Craigslist! And it was only $30 and in super good condition. When we first let Jeremiah try it out, he did a lot of this:

Lots of looking around in wide-eyed wonderment at all the toys! Now that he's tried it out a few times, he really likes it and is starting to play with the toys and try to spin in the seat!

Yes, in both of those pictures he has his hand in his mouth... he ALWAYS has a hand in his mouth, and if he gets a hold of a toy, that goes in his mouth as well. I thought it was pretty cute until he tried to put one of Molly's toys in his mouth this morning. Yuck.

Oh, and tomorrow Jeremiah turns 4 months old! I am eager to have his check-up next week (and eager to have the shots portion over-with)! He's doing a lot better with his eating-- going at least 4 hours between meals, now. We're trying to wean him of the night feeding(s). This is easier said than done! He's also quite a cat-napper-- he never seems to nap longer than 40 minutes. That frustrates me just a bit! Thankfully at night he'll sleep the 4 hours between feedings! Now, if he could just figure out how to nap a bit longer during the day, we'd be good. We might give cereal a try in the next few weeks to see if he's ready for that. So many fun and exciting new things! :)

  1. Just a quick observation.....Jeremiah looks like he has a pigtail in that last picture. He's still a cutie pie, even with girl's hair ;)

  2. Wow, that is hilarious! That's one of the toys on the exersaucer behind him. I guess now we know what he would have looked like if he was a girl! Now I can't look at that pic without laughing! :)

  3. I just LOVE the wide-eyed wonderment! That looks like a fun exersaucer---way more cool toys on it than the one at KinderCare.

  4. I love the first time they get into the exersaucer, they don't know what to do with themselves! I wouldn't worry too much about the napping thing, their bodies don't really "get" longer naps until around 6 months and that's when they go to the 2-3 naps a day for longer periods of time. So don't give up or lose hope! We NEED nap time just as much as they do. :)
