Go Hawkeyes!

We had a pretty awesome opportunity this weekend!  We were blessed by my very generous extended family with some tickets to the Iowa/Michigan State football game at Kinnick Stadium!  To say that Adam was excited about this would be a pretty big understatement. :)

We took off for Iowa City after school/work on Friday, made a stop for dinner in Williamsburg, and then arrived at my cousin Dan and and Janet's house about 8:00 pm.  My Uncle Tony, Aunt Jeane, and cousin Mark all arrived from Michigan about the same time we did (they went to the game with us on Saturday).

Jeremiah was pretty excited..... and took a while to calm down for bed! (He was excited to bring his Herky pillow along for the occasion).

Settle down, little boy!  Maybe watching the iPad will help..... or not.

We awoke on Saturday morning and were excited to head off to the game!  From the weather reports, I was anticipating windy, rainy, very chilly conditions but thankfully it turned out to be just perfect!  Dry and in the 60s!  We did not need the fleeces, hats, and mittens I brought along (you know if I had NOT packed them, we would have frozen our booties off!).

The game started at 11:00 am, and we got there about 9:45ish, I think.  We found our seats and were able to walk around a bit and check stuff out.  It was Iowa's Homecoming, too, so all the different sections were told to wear either black or gold (we were in a black section).  So it was pretty cool to see just a sea of people in black and gold (only a touch of green here and there)! :)

I was there, too! :)

 And yes, we were in a black section.... Adam had a black shirt underneath, and we figured J's cute uniform was an okay reason not to abide by the black suggestion.

It was such a fun experience, and the atmosphere at Kinnick was so cool (especially being Homecoming)!  Too bad the Hawkeyes could not pull off a win-- that is the only thing that could have made it better! :)
