Daycare Picnic

Last weekend, we enjoyed a wonderful picnic put on by Jeremiah's daycare provider, Michelle, and her family.  Unfortunately, the weather did not want to cooperate the whole time (that's been the story of our lives the past few weeks!).  The picnic was held at the park by Michelle's house, so we mainly had to stay under the shelter to stay dry from the pouring rain!  Thankfully, when we first arrived, the kids were able to get some play time in before the downpour began!

He was hesitant at first, but after a gentle nudge, he loved going down the slide!
Michelle also had the kids put on a little preschool program, highlighting some of the songs they learned this year.  It was so cute!

J was in position and ready to perform!

Buddies!  Grady, Jayden, Connor, and J
I got a few little videos of the songs that they sang-- oh my word, Jeremiah cracks me up in all of them!  We were so proud that he participated, sang the words, knew the actions, and in general just did a great job!  So glad that he is learning new things in preschool and not JUST being silly and trying to get people to laugh at circle time (he gets that from his father....).  So here are the videos (try not to be distracted by the sound of the pouring rain)!

VIDEO 1 (includes the "Circle Time" song, "Days of the Week", and sign language.  Jeremiah bopping to the first song just kills me!!!!)

VIDEO 2 (includes "Jesus Loves Me" and the Bible Verse-- which Jeremiah says at home, too.  "Let everything you say be good and kind and helpful. Ephesians to 29!" That's how J says it, not sure if that's the correct wording.  Pretty sure it is Ephesians 4:29...)

VIDEO 3 (starts in the middle of "If you're Happy and you Know it" then shows "Wheels on the Bus" and "Sally the Camel."  The reason for the giggling at the beginning is because they were singing "If you're happy and you know it, shake your bum!")

So, if you are not a grandparent and you made it through all those videos, I am impressed! :)  We had a great time, despite the rain.  And we feel so blessed to have Jeremiah in such a wonderful daycare setting, while we are at work.  He loves going "to Shell's" and Grady is his very best buddy (they are partners in crime!).  We always know that he is being cared for and loved while he is there, and he learned so much this year with the preschool program (and he came home with tons of cute crafts!  All of which are saved in boxes in his closet..... I may have a problem the next 14 years of his schooling!).  And J was only 2 and a 1/2 when he started this preschool program (can you tell I am so proud of him?!?!?)-- he has 2 more years of preschool (ahem... and also POTTY-TRAINING) before he will be 5 and ready for "big kid school" (don't tell J, though-- he SO wants to go to "big kid school," and according to him, life begins at 5!).  Not to mention the fact that this Mommy is nowhere NEAR ready for her baby to be in "big kid school"!!!!!  Hope you all enjoyed J's first preschool performance! :)
