After our LOOOOONG and exciting day at the Magic Kingdom on Sunday, we decided Monday would be a good day to sleep in and hang out at our resort's pool.
Some pics of our resort:
| When it is below 0 this winter, I am going to look at this picture for comfort. |
And no, that's not the pool. The pool area was across the lake-- and they had a cool playground and sand area for the kids to play in, too. J played there for awhile, but then the heat sent us all back to the pool!
| The big pool. |
| The kiddie pool. |
| Not a huge fan of bathing suit pics.... but they had this very cool waterfall that looked kinda like a pyramid! |
Unfortunately, Florida is very similar to my home state of California in that they both have lizards. I HATE LIZARDS!!!!!!!!! So I was not too pleased to see them scurrying across the sidewalk in front of us as we walked around the resort. I do think that you all can be proud of me because I did not scream or yell EVERY time I saw one. So that's progress! :)
Monday evening we headed back to Downtown Disney for dinner, shopping, and walking around. Jeremiah's cousins are big LEGO fans, so the LEGO store was one of our first stops. And I think Jeremiah is going to end up being a big LEGO fan, too!
They had tons of places for kids to play with LEGO's, and a couple little places where you could build the little yellow LEGO guys. Jeremiah would have stood there for hours just putting those little guys together and finding helmets and hats for them. I love this pic because you can see the concentration on his little face as he is putting the LEGO guy together-- so cute! We did end up buying him 3 LEGO guys and a small LEGO car set that he has already spent lots of time playing with (ummmm, and Adam, too). I'm pretty proud of him-- most of those little LEGO sets are meant for kids at least 5 or 6 years old! I think he's like a genius or something.
Tuesday we headed over to
Blizzard Beach, one of the Disney waterparks. We walked in and were greeted by Goofy! :)
| J was a little intimidated, so giraffey had to come along. |
Blizzard Beach had an awesome little kid's area called Tike's Peak-- J had a great time going down some of the slides all by himself!
| This one was perfect for non-adventurous Jeremiah-- he practically had to push himself down! |
We again packed a picnic lunch-- PB&J's, chips, and fruit! A cheap and easy way to save a little bit of money! :)
After lunch, we took the chair lift (yes Mom, we took our 3 year old on a ski lift! He did meet the height requirement....) up to the top of the mountain to try out a raft ride. It wasn't until we got all the way up that we found out that you have to have a minimum of 4 people to do the raft ride. Bummer. So down the steps we went!
Before we left, we let J get an air-brushed tattoo. He, of course, chose Mickey for his first ink job!
| He sat very still for his first tattoo. |
| In fact, he was starting to fall asleep! |
| He was so brave. |
| Tired boy with his first (and last!?) tattoo. |
We knew J was exhausted from all of the water fun, so we hurried back to the hotel for a nap. It was after his nap that his fever first showed up..... hovering around 100 and 101. At this point we thought maybe it was from the sun or he was overheated? It is always so hard to know, and I am still waiting for J's instruction manual! Anyway, we headed to Downtown Disney AGAIN for dinner, and picked up some Tylenol. Once he had that, he perked right up and seemed better!
| He looks fine here, right? |
We stopped for ice cream on the way out of Downtown Disney. I have no idea what in the world they put in those Mickey Mouse ice cream sandwiches but OH. MY. WORD. Delicious!!!! Too bad they sold them at our resort, too, and I didn't find out until Thursday! Bummer. But really, it's probably for the best. :)
| Someone regretted his popsicle choice.... Mommy reluctantly shared (that's love right there!) |
So that was Monday and Tuesday. We are now back home, and J's Mickey tattoo is still looking good (it's supposed to stick around 3-7 days). I hope he is not too disappointed when it disappears for good! Check back soon for one more Disney World installment! :)
so fun!! Hope he's feeling o.k. Taryn gets that way when she's in the sun...easily overheated. Must be the blonde hair. :)
