I want to at least get the rest of our Magic Kingdom day down before I start forgetting and all the days start blending together in my mind! We've had an eventful few days, which included a virus for Jeremiah (fever, lethargy, not eating, sore throat... totally unrelated to his other tummy issues from last week), and a nightmare urgent care visit where the "Doctor" (I use that term very loosely) ruled out strep and said, "It's a virus, there's nothing we can do, it will run its course in 3-5 days." Fabulous. Anyway, more on that later (and you will be happy to know that Jeremiah has been quite the trooper, and he hasn't let it slow him down too much)!
So, where were we? Oh yes, napping. It definitely was nice, staying here on the Disney property and being able to take buses back and forth to the parks, etc. The waits for buses were sometimes annoying (not ALL the time), but I'm guessing driving and parking would have been way more of a pain!!!
After our naps, we hopped a bus back to the Magic Kingdom and headed straight for Adventureland to hit the "Jungle Cruise". Turned out the wait was a bit long, so we grabbed Fast Passes for it and went to ride the "Pirates of the Caribbean" first (that one was a bit scary for Jeremiah, I think, but he did fine!). Oh, and of course, it was time for the daily afternoon thunderstorm/rain.... I am serious that it happened every day (except one). But somehow I never got a pic of us in our super cool rain ponchos! Shoot.
Ahoy, matey!
Then we went back to "Jungle Cruise" for our ride (Fast Passes are a great idea! I was surprised we did not have to use that option more often this week!)
Next up was dinner at Pecos Bill's Tall Tale Inn (or something like that) where Jeremiah ate his very first hamburger and loved it (I have no idea why the child has never had a hamburger.... he's more of chicken kind of guy, I guess).
Then we quick took a raft over to Tom Sawyer Island where J ran around for awhile.

Of course then we needed ice cream. Actually, a popsicle for J and Dole Pineapple Whips for me and Adam (I read somewhere that these were supposed to be one of the best treats to have at Disney World-- and they did not disappoint!).
By that time (about 8:30 or so), people were staking out their spots for the Electrical Parade. I heard that was a really great parade and wanted to see it..... BUT, our little guy had yet to meet his favorite character-- MICKEY!!!!! I could not leave Disney World without having J meet Mickey, I think I would have regretted it forever (and I am serious). So, we went back to Main Street to the Town Square Theatre, and timed it perfectly-- remember, everyone else was trying to get spots for the parade! So we waited about 15 minutes, and J got his chance to meet Mickey. He was SOOOOOO excited, and it almost made me cry to see him so happy!
This is when J finally got a glimpse of the REAL Mickey!
Telling the real Mickey about his Mickey stuffed animal!
This picture makes me want to cry! J is beaming!!!!

Coming up sometime soon..... more Downtown Disney, Blizzard Beach, Hollywood Studios, Orlando's horrible interpretation of "urgent" care, and Animal Kingdom! :)

Yikes, you poor thing for having a sick guy on the trip. :o(
ReplyDeleteThe first time I went to WDW was in early June and I actually think it was less crowded than when we went this year at Spring Break. It was a madhouse!
