Jeremiah got his very first haircut today! Can you believe it? He had kind of a strange hair thing going on... he had his new hair growing in nicely, but yet he still had his longer baby hair on top which gave him his awesome baby comb-over and "Grandpa Wiers" part. Plus he had a long swirl of hair on the back of his head.... kind of weird. So, I had been thinking for awhile that maybe we should get him trimmed up a bit, but I thought maybe I could just do it myself. Then, I came back to reality and decided that I could not trust myself (an amateur) with a scissors near my baby's head! We finally decided we really needed to get his hair cut when both Adam and I separately (without telling each other) came to the conclusion that Jeremiah's hair was starting to make him look like Conan O'Brien. So, we picked out a place in Urbandale called "Lollipop's Haircuts for Kids." Sounds nice, huh? Too bad Jeremiah was too young to get an actual lollipop! But he did GREAT and we even left there with a baggie of his hair, a family photo, and a certificate honoring Jeremiah for "meeting all of the requirements of a first haircut with courage and bravery." :) This is what he looked like before:

See a resemblance? :)
Jeremiah was pretty excited to get to sit in the seat to get his haircut!

Wow, this bib is HUUUGE!

Hey, what are you doing?

No, seriously... what are you doing?

A mohawk half-way through!

Hey, who's that cute baby over there? Oh, wait... that's just me in the mirror!

Yep, just a little more off the top, please.

Almost done!

Now for a little trim with the clippers...

...and a little blow-dry...

And we're done! Just look at this handsome boy! :)
Can't believe a little guy like Jeremiah could sit through a haircut with any fussing. he is remarkably good natured isn't he? I like the new haircut-makes him look so grown up.Aunt JoAnne
ReplyDeleteOh my, Rachel, didn't you cry? I almost teared up looking at the pictures!! So cute, though! And no more Grandpa hairdo??? It looks like he behaved perfectly. He's looking so grown-up! I can't wait til next week-end!
ReplyDeleteOh, I also noticed that he's doing the "old man" thing with his mouth in the Conan look-alike picture. :)
ReplyDeleteyup, just as cute as ever! You know it was going to be a good haircut if the barber was wearing an Iowa shirt! :)
ReplyDeletep.s. I think he looks just like you in the first picture (the one under Conan)...it's in the eyes. :)
