Since the last few days of summer vacation are slowly coming to an end, we wanted to have some summer fun! Thankfully our hot weather is still here (I love hot weather... seriously), so we decided to introduce Jeremiah to the pool. We went to Ashby Park in Des Moines, which has the perfect pool for little ones. It has a splash pad with fountains, and then a small wading pool with zero-depth entry. Oh, and it's free! The pools around here in Ankeny are all brand new, with water slides, etc... and a fee per person. So, we're going to hang out at the free little pool as long as we can (although I am sure as Jeremiah gets older, this pool will become boring, and he'll become like the big kids that were there today who were running around and splashing and annoying me because this pool is for LITTLE kids. And we don't want that to happen, so we'll have to graduate to bigger pools, I'm sure). But for now, this one is perfect, and I think next summer we'll be spending lots of time there! Jeremiah and I were supposed to go to this pool on Friday with our friends, but it started to rain RIGHT when we were supposed to meet. We had to settle for lunch at Panera instead (which was still fun!). So, we checked out the pool today.
We got Jeremiah dressed in his swimming suit and all lubed up with sunscreen, and then we told him where we were going. He was excited!

First we looked at the fountains... Jeremiah was not too impressed.

Then we sat down in the zero-depth part of the pool, and Jeremiah really liked that!

He did a lot of watching and looking around (surprise, surprise) at all the kids and toys and water and fountains!

After the pool, Jeremiah took a ride on the swings!

He really liked the swings, but he was extremely obsessed with the chain.

"Seriously, guys... look at this thing!"

As sad as it is for me that my baby is growing up, it really is nice that Jeremiah is getting older and enjoys doing fun things like this!
I think he changed again! He seems older in these pictures! Time is flying!
