The 6 Month Stats

Today was Jeremiah's 6 Month check-up (almost 2 weeks late)! But, it was worth it to have the appointment 2 weeks late, since I was able to get the day off to take Jeremiah to his appointment. I am a big fan of the "Family Sick Day" now! I get like 8 of these per year, and I've never used them before (Adam can take care of himself! Plus, he rarely gets sick.), and they wouldn't let me use them for my maternity leave. So now, I plan to use them as much as I can! Jeremiah might sniffle, and I might just call in for a "Family Sick Day." :)

The doctor told us pretty much what we expected.... Jeremiah is growing well and consistently at the top of the charts! He now weighs 20 lbs and 2 oz, putting him in the 90th percentile for weight. And he is 28 inches long, putting him in the 97th percentile for height. He is now the size of the average 9 month old. I asked the doctor if we are feeding him too much (because I am a first time mom! Plus, Jeremiah doesn't seem to understand the meaning of the word "full"). She looked at his growth pattern and his height and weight and said that really, since he is so tall, he really needs to be this weight to make him proportional. She said that if he was 20 lbs and only 21 inches long, then we'd be worried (and we'd have a REALLY chubby baby)! So he must be getting the amount that he needs. We both did a great job with the shots-- he recovered quickly once he was in my arms, and I didn't cry at all! He gagged on the oral vaccine this time, though-- it must have tasted yucky!

The doctor was impressed that Jeremiah is sitting up by himself already!

He's pretty proud of himself, too.

The doctor also told us that we better start baby-proofing the house because Jeremiah might start crawling soon. We already knew that, though, since he's doing this a lot:

And this:

Of course, once he gets in that position, all he does is yell, "Aaaaaaghhhh!" because he is frustrated. He hasn't figured out how to put one knee in front of the other, yet. It will be soon, though!

I found the perfect onesie for Jeremiah at Target:

He still loves his blankie! :)

Good-bye for now, from Linus!

  2. Oh, what a sweet boy! Love that t-shirt. I didn't see it in our Target, but I guess I only look in the girlie section anyhow.

J's stats make me laugh - I just had both girls in for their yearly and they are both 50% in height and 15% in weight - at least it isn't opposite! LOL!
